Help, troubleshooting, and frequently asked questions
LensReport is a mobile receipt and invoice scanner that turns photos of business documents into export-ready Excel and PDF reports with real working formulas — no manual data entry. This page covers the most common questions and tells you how to reach us if you need help.
When you write in, please include:
If your question is about a specific report or scan, the report’s name is enough — please do not email scanned document images, since they may contain personal or financial information. We can usually help without seeing the underlying receipts.
Open the app, tap Settings → Upgrade (or tap any locked feature), choose Individual, Family, or Enterprise, and confirm the purchase through Apple App Store or Google Play. Your subscription auto-renews at the end of each billing period and can be cancelled at any time from your store account settings.
Cancellation stops the next renewal. You keep paid access until the end of the current billing period. Cancelling does not delete your LensReport account or your data.
All purchases are processed by Apple or Google, not by LensReport. Refund requests must be made directly to the store you bought through:
If the refund is approved, the store will release the funds back to your original payment method and we will revoke the entitlement automatically. If your refund request is denied and you believe the charge was an error, email info@lensreport.app with your store receipt and we will do our best to help.
In Settings → Manage Subscription, tap Restore Purchases while signed in to the same Apple ID or Google account that originally bought the subscription. If the entitlement still does not unlock after a minute, sign out and back in to LensReport and retry. If that does not resolve it, email us and include the original purchase receipt from the App Store or Google Play — we can reconcile it against our subscription provider (RevenueCat) and restore access manually.
Five entries per calendar month (scans, manual entries, and imports combined), refreshing on the 1st of each month at 00:00 UTC. Export, custom columns, Business Profile branding, AI Insights, and team collaboration require a paid subscription.
Most sign-in problems fall into one of these buckets:
@privaterelay.appleid.com address rather than your real
one. That is fine; replies from us still reach you through Apple’s relay. If you have tried the steps above and still cannot sign in, email info@lensreport.app with the email address (or sign-in provider) you used.
Open Settings → Edit Profile in the app. You can change your display name there. Changing the sign-in email requires re-authenticating with the new provider; if you need help with that, email us.
Open Settings → Delete Account. Deletion is a two-step confirmation flow and requires fresh re-authentication. Once confirmed, every report, entry, scanned image, team membership, share link, AI Insights conversation, audit log, and feedback row is removed from our systems. Deleting your LensReport account does not automatically cancel an active subscription — cancel that separately through the App Store or Google Play (see above).
Open the report and tap the export icon (top right). Choose PDF, Excel (.xlsx), or CSV. Excel exports preserve live formulas for calculated columns — they are real working spreadsheets, not flattened values.
Open Settings → Export my data. We assemble a JSON bundle containing your profile, every report, every entry, quota history, team memberships, invitations, and active share links, together with short-lived download links to each scanned image. The bundle is delivered via a signed link valid for 7 days. You can request a fresh export at any time.
Images are stored in Firebase Cloud Storage and the bundle includes signed download URLs that expire after 7 days. If you wait longer than that to download them, request a fresh export and the URLs will be regenerated.
AI extraction is excellent but not perfect — especially on handwritten receipts, faded thermal paper, or unusual layouts. Tap any field on the row to edit it inline. The change is saved immediately and any formula-based columns (totals, taxes, etc.) recalculate live.
If a particular template consistently produces poor results on a category of document, please email us a description (no images) and we will tune the extraction prompt for that template.
Offline scans are queued on your device and visible in the report sheet with a pending badge. Once your device reconnects, the queue processes automatically and the rows fill in with extracted data. There is nothing to do manually.
Owners of a paid plan can generate a public share link for any report. The link is a
read-only snapshot hosted at share.lensreport.app and works without the
recipient installing the app. You can require a 6-digit PIN, set the expiry (1 hour, 24 hours,
7 days, or 30 days), and revoke the link at any time from
Settings → Manage Shared Reports.
If a recipient enters the PIN incorrectly 5 times in a row, the link is locked for 15 minutes to prevent brute-forcing. Wait out the lockout window and try again.
Team and Enterprise subscribers can generate a personal invite code (e.g. LENS-AB12CD)
in Settings → Collaborate and share it with the people they want to
collaborate with. The other person opens LensReport, taps Join a team, enters
the code, and you receive a notification to approve or decline. Approved contributors sign in
with their own free accounts and consume their own monthly entry quota. To remove a contributor,
go to Settings → Collaborate, tap the member, and choose
Remove from team.
AI Insights is an optional in-app advisor available to paid subscribers. Tap the AI button on any report to ask questions in plain English (“what was my biggest expense last month?”, “am I overspending on fuel?”). Answers are grounded in your own entries, formatted in your locale and currency. Each paid user gets 30 AI questions per day. AI Insights is informational only and is not a substitute for professional advice.
Crash data is sent automatically via Firebase Crashlytics with no scan content attached, so even without a report from you we will usually see the crash itself. Including a description of what you were doing helps us reproduce it.
Full detail is in our Privacy Policy. The short version:
